Pump

A pump that hums, leaks or trips gets a diagnosis before a swap.

Motor replacement, impeller cleaning, belt replacement and electrical troubleshooting for the pump that keeps your pool moving through a Visalia or Tulare summer.

Chapter 01

Reading what the pump is telling you

A pump rarely fails silently. A hum with no spin usually means a seized motor or an impeller jammed with debris. A grinding or screaming note points at worn bearings. A drip at the seam between motor and wet end is a failing seal, weak return flow is often a clogged impeller or a restricted basket, and a breaker that trips every time the pump starts says the motor is drawing more than it should.

Each of those sounds and symptoms leads to a different repair, which is why the first step is listening, then testing, and only then picking up a tool.

What the repair actually involves

Electrical troubleshooting comes first: is power reaching the motor, is the wiring sound, is the breaker the problem or the symptom. If the impeller is choked with leaves, plaster dust or a stray hair tie, it is pulled and cleaned. Where the pump runs on a belt, a cracked or glazed belt is replaced.

When the motor itself is finished, it is replaced rather than nursed along, and the new one is wired, sealed and checked against the pump it is joining. Crystal Blue does this for residential and commercial pools in Visalia, Tulare, Hanford, Lemoore and Porterville.

Chapter 03

After the repair, and why July will not wait

Once the work is done, the pump is primed and run. A healthy pump settles into a steady, low hum with no rattle, no grinding and no air gulping at the basket, and the filter gauge shows normal pressure with water returning strongly at the jets.

That matters most in summer. With the pump down, water stops circulating, chlorine stops reaching the corners and the filter sits idle, so a clear pool can turn green within days in valley heat. If your pump is acting up, call the office at (559) 679-5599 or send a message, and do not wait for the water to change colour.
