Drain + wash

Scale and stains the brush will not move come off with a drain and a wash.

A diluted acid wash lifts mineral deposits from pool plaster, then the pool is neutralised, rinsed, refilled and restarted with fresh water balanced.

Chapter 01

When brushing has stopped working

Valley fill water is hard, and hard water leaves a record. Calcium builds into a crust at the tile line, minerals stain the plaster in rust and grey patches, and scale roughens a surface that used to feel smooth underfoot. A brush and a good chemical routine keep new buildup from forming, but they will not lift what has already set.

That is the point where an acid wash earns its place. Before anyone commits to it, the pool is looked at, because not every stain is a mineral stain and not every plaster surface can take the treatment.

The wash, and the Pool Drain & Restart around it

The sequence is fixed. The pool is drained, then a diluted acid solution goes onto the exposed plaster to dissolve scale, stains and mineral deposits. The acid is neutralised so it stops working, and the whole surface is rinsed thoroughly so no residue stays behind.

Then the pool is refilled and the equipment restarted. Fresh water arrives with its own chemistry, so pH, alkalinity and chlorine are tested and set before anyone swims. Crystal Blue does this for residential pools in Visalia, Tulare, Hanford, Lemoore and Porterville.

Chapter 03

Care for the plaster, and what comes after

Acid is harsh on plaster, which is why this is assessed first and handled by professionals, not tried out of a bucket on a Saturday. Done correctly, the surface comes back brighter and smoother, water circulates more freely, and new staining has less to grip.

Keeping it that way is ordinary routine work. Pool cleaning starts at $130.00 and filter cleans are at $125.00, and a steady weekly balance of chlorine, pH and alkalinity slows the next round of scale. To talk through whether your pool is ready, call (559) 679-5599 or send a message.
