Recovery
From green back to a floor you can see
An algae bloom has a cause, and the cure starts by finding it. Crystal Blue clears green water for Visalia, Tulare, Hanford, Lemoore and Porterville pool owners.
Chapter 01
How a pool turns green in a week
Green water is an algae bloom, and a bloom needs three things: sunlight, warmth and a chemistry that has stopped fighting back. Valley summers hand over the first two for free. Let the chlorine run out, let the filter run too few hours, let leaves and other organic debris settle on the floor, and a pool that was blue on Sunday can be green by the following weekend.
The cause matters because the cure depends on it. A bloom from empty chlorine calls for a different plan than one from a clogged filter, or one from a pH that drifted high enough that chlorine barely works at all. Treating the colour without finding the cause is how a pool clears for three days and then turns again.

The recovery, in order
It starts with an inspection. The water is tested, the filtration system is looked over, and the debris load on the floor and in the baskets is assessed. From that comes a treatment plan for your pool, rather than a bucket of chemicals thrown at whatever colour it happens to be.
Then the work itself: the pool is shocked with chlorine to take the bloom down, algaecide goes in to hold it down, and the filter is cleaned, since a green pool loads a filter fast. pH and alkalinity are adjusted so the chlorine can do its job, and the walls are brushed and the floor vacuumed to lift out what has died.
After that the water is tested again, and the cycle repeats until it is clear. The finish line is plain: the floor shows again, the water tests balanced, and the filter is running at a healthy pressure. Any heavy debris is dealt with along the way, because the dead algae has to leave the pool, not just change colour.
Chapter 03
Keeping it blue afterwards
Prevention comes down to four habits: proper water chemistry, enough hours of filter run time, regular cleaning of the pool surface, and a pool cover to cut debris and evaporation. None of them is complicated, and all of them are easy to let slide in the middle of a July heat wave when the pool is used the most.
The steadiest way to keep up with all four is a weekly route stop, which is why most green pools we clear end up on pool maintenance afterwards. If your water is turning right now, call (559) 679-5599 before it gets worse, or send a quote request and describe what you are seeing.
